Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Are you licensed, bonded and insured to work in Oregon and my county?

A: General contractors are required to be licensed in all localities where they work and carry enough bonding and insurance per Oregon State requirements. (www.oregon.gov/CCB/about_us.shtml)  In Oregon, a general contractor must maintain a $15,000 bond and a general liability insurance coverage of $1,000,000. In addition, contractors with employees must maintain $500,000 of workers' compensation coverage and vehicle insurance. Fort Rock Construction, Inc. carries all required insurances with a general liability coverage of $3,000,000.

Q: Will you provide me a list of your past clients?

A: We will provide you with at least 20 references and hope you will contact at least three or four.  We hope to add you to our client list one day soon.

Q: How much do you charge for estimates?

A: At Fort Rock Construction, Inc. we offer a free initial estimate based on the initial consultation.

Q: Will you furnish me with a detailed estimate?

A:
At Fort Rock Construction, Inc. we provide a detailed scope of work on our proposal based on client selections and we look the entire project over in detail prior to contracting.

Q: Can you provide me with buildable drawings?

A:
If needed, Fort Rock Construction, Inc. can supply a preliminary plan. Upon a signed Design Feasibility Agreement, a detailed set of drawings, including structural engineering with expected budget and job timeline, will be provided.

Q: Will someone be working on my project every day?

A:
Communication between clients and contractors on a daily basis is a key component to a smooth project. Your project will progress as per schedule and any idle days for our crews due to inspections, material orders, or scheduled work from specialty trades would be clearly conveyed to you. Your project manager will be onsite daily to track progress and discuss project details with you.

Q: What happens to me if my contractor gets ill or becomes disabled?

A:
Although the size of  the company you hire does not insure a quality job, you want to be sure the company you choose has the depth to successfully complete your project in a timely manner.

Q: What kind of warranty do you offer and is it in writing?

A:
We offer a written warranty in every contract for service.
